The immense 1964/1965 New York World's Fair covered 646 acres - centered around the iconic Unisphere fountain and a theme of "Peace Through Understanding." With the space age in full swing, the Fair was noted as a touchstone of American culture and technology. Walt Disney's involvement in the Fair was notable - designing a tribute to "UNICEF and the World's Children" experience for the Pepsi-Cola pavilion. This attraction was so popular at the Fair that Disney decided to make it a permanent fixture in his California theme park after Fair season was complete. He re-named it, "It's a Small World."
This is a VERY detailed map that was originally over 4' in length. It is therefore only available in 18" x 24" and 24" x 36" sizes. There is so much to see! A fascinating piece of New York - and American - history!
