The history of national automobile clubs began in the early 20th century, when numerous local and national clubs formed to advocate for drivers, offer social activities, and improve road conditions. The featured club on this poster was founded in 1924, offering roadside assistance and travel planning services. The clubs were especially necessary due to the general public's negative views toward the new automobiles of the early 1900's.
